Friday afternoons

What does one do at work on a Friday afternoon. Well if you are like me, probably not much. For me, it generally consists of the following:
  • Counting down the hours till home time.
  • Then counting down the minutes till home time.
  • Play some table tennis.
  • Play around with a soccer ball in the warehouse.
  • Read some blogs.
  • Check the news online.
  • Look at Trade-Me.
  • Count down the minutes again.

It is funny to see the list and look to see where actual work fits in. Do we actually work 5 days or is it really 4 and a half days, where Friday afternoon is the time your work pays for you to procrastinate. Anyway, it is time to check out the news again. Only 53 minutes to go.

Early mornings

I have being having a few earlier mornings than normal lately and I am undecided on whether I like them or not. I used to be a real morning person, and I guess I still am as long as I can wake up after 7:30am. But is that a real morning person?

What constitutes a morning person?
  • Does a morning person need coffee?
  • Is this when they are the most alert mentally, physically, spiritually?

Anyway, that was my mindless thought of the evening.

Lesson 1 for you not so handy folk

Yesterday I was going around and painting all the touch ups around the house. I was on such a roll that I decided to paint the window sills outside the same colour as our bricks as they currently were a lovely shade of green (not) and white. It had currently been a beautiful day but the sun was definitely setting, well you could say completely set. But I was out there with my brush painting it up. I was impressed that I had it all finished so I went in for a relaxed Sunday evening. But it was short lived. I came home tonight to all the window sills looking nasty. A note for all you not so home handy men or women, don't paint at night when it is really cold. Paint when it is warm so paint can dry. You may think you are on a roll but it will take you twice as long to fix up as the paint runs a bit!
